Help Wanted: Grumpy Mountain Man seeks baby momma. Job is an incubator position only. Surrogate must be impervious to grunting in the form of communication and nosey brotherly neighbors. Rustic mountain range housing available upon request.
I wanted to pummel my irritating brothers when they posted their own version of a wanted ad to help me with my life.
But I can't fault the results once the right woman lands on my lap.
Becoming a single father is not a decision I made lightly. In fact, it's the biggest decision of my entire life.
Which is why when I interview Trista, I know she's perfect.
She's wild, she's opinionated, she wears cowboy boots. Even my pet goat loves her…
She's the exact type of person I was holding out for.
And to my great horror, I realize on our first night of attempting this baby making dance…when the lights are low, the cheap wine is flowing, and the home insemination supplies are laid out on the kitchen counter…
I want to do a lot more than just make her my surrogate.
I want to make her mine.
My Review:
Nine Month Contract by Amy Daws is a small town Rom-Com featuring Wyatt, a grouchy mountain man and Trista, a very independent woman and possible surrogate.
Wyatt Fletcher lives with two of his brothers on his own mountain. He has come to the conclusion something is missing in his life and wants a child. The easiest way for him is surrogacy but it's proving harder than the thought.
The Fletchers are a very close knit family. Wyatt is the mysterious one who doesn't talk much. He comes across as introverted loner who lives with his pet goat Millie. It is a life changing decision to be a single dad but he doesn't want to share his child like his brother Max has to after divorcing.
His brothers are an interesting bunch. Calder is crazy but funny and I laughed at him calling Wyatt, Papa Bear. Luke is the youngest and really sweet but against relationships. Max is the oldest and has Everly and Ethan, who they all adore.
Calder decides to help Wyatt in his quest when the surrogate agency says he is unmatchable. With the help of Everly Operation Mountain man matchmaker begins. Everly thinks all her uncles need a woman to fall in love with !! In her determination to fine him a Baby Momma, a series of events lead to her literally bumping into Trista, who turns out to be the perfect match for her uncle.
Trista is a force of nature, a bit crazy but stubbornly independent. She works at a dog rescue centre and has a pet pig. She didn't have a good childhood and has been looking after herself for years so hates when Wyatt tries to look after her. I loved all the animals she brings to the barn.
They actually get on really well and try to be friends but what will happen when their fantasies become reality? Can she get pregnant and give him the child he desires. Can she then walk away - will he let her go?
A fun read, with a great supporting cast of humans and animals!!
