I. devoted to digging up this grave on my knees faithful to this carnage as moths to light find one last love before dying there's few ways to be gentle when you've been treated with violence.
II. a hallucination between friends shared until one regains her reason cheek on the pillow flushes then lifts all the secrets you spoke I swear I've kept love is such an overreaction until it is all that makes sense.
III. pearls on a pillow left by a ghost the desert holds her bones softly late in the night I tell her your middle name this is meant to be a gentle apology for all the phantoms of this old pain I hear forgiveness within the silence.
IV. I have our funeral read the eulogy the mourners pretend they are listening the sun builds blisters on my arms until a shadow sits down next to me grief takes my hand and squeezes the firmament falls I eat it.
V. a sin-eater begs for more static crawls from my mouth when I lift my hand you lift yours somewhere else old friends bound by sympathetic magic I promise we will always have this.
