I guess with the holiday weekend upon us (hooray Memorial Day), the music biz felt we would have more time to listen to music so they decided to do another heavy drop this New Music Friday.
After just getting a barrage of new RIAA plaques, alt-rock power duo Twenty One Pilots have dropped their latest album. Rock vet Lenny Kravitz has his first new album in many years, and indie pop hitmakers Wallows are keeping the momentum going with their new one. Say Anything have a lot on their dirty minds on their new album, and from our review, you can see what we thought of the new Young Jesus album.
Whether you ever accepted Sublime with Rome as a legit version of Sublime, or if you're cool with Bradley Nowell's son Jakob taking over the reigns of his late father, their is no arguing that the new Sublime single that just dropped, featuring vocals by Bradley and a guest feature from StickFigure, is 100% Sublime. Hear that in our playlist. Americana stadium act Zach Bryan has a new song out (which perhaps I'll hear when he plays Los Angeles on June 2nd) and rising Americana/country rock band Red Clay Strays have dropped their first single since signing with a major.
I always liked indie rock band Hard-Fi, so I'm happy to hear they've returned with a new single, and I've been enjoying everything I've heard from Fantastic Cat, so had to share their third single. Jon Muq has released one more song before his new album comes out next week, and Oceanator has returned with a real banger. Pacific Radio have dropped their second new song of 2024, and Rare Americans continue their onslaught of new music releases.
We've got more new songs from returning artists like Helen Townsend, Anthony Green, Me First & The Gimme Gimmes, Skeggs, Linn Koch-Emmery, Rosalie James, Maximo Park, My Best Unbeaten Brother and Jason DeVore. And joining us for the first time are Growing Stone, Feldspar, Blurry Paige, Eliza & the Delusionals,Sunday Morning, Frozemode, Tino Drima (bringing with him the legend Michael McDonald), Echo, S'Gonzaless, amillionsons, Littrell, G.H. Francis, Yacht Rock Revue, Ok Cowgirl, Marisa Bloom and Marianas Trench.
