Val is on her way to visit her niece. While taxi driver is waiting she sees the neighborhood watch sign and decides she needed to grab her beloved rings just in case her home is robbed. Her husband does recently and she doesn't want to lose his wedding ring. Or their late daughter's ring. Or her best friend Josie's. I know there's a fourth ring but I can't figure out for the life of me who's that belonged to right now.
Anyway, when Val reaches her niece she realizes the little bag with the rings in it is not worth her belongings. Where could they be?
Meanwhile, another woman takes the same taxi after Val. The driver is rude and angry about something. She notices a little bag of rings in the back then argues with the driver about taking the rings to the police station. Next thing she knows, someone's knocking on the window and she can barely move or comprehend what's happening.
Val's niece and best friend are podcasters and they decide to vlog about the rings. They have Val share about each one while trying in the emotional story about the rings and who it belonged to.
Overall this book keeps readers on the edge of their reading seats. Right when you think you know what will happen next, something unexpected occurs and you need to reconsider your views.
My favorite character is Carly, Val's niece. She keeps a level headed approach to solving Val's issue. She's loving and caring. Carly is a calm voice in a situation of high anxiety. She's also cheerful to keep up their spirits of finding the rings.
