When Kol finds out that Rhapsody, his first and only love, is about to marry another man he isn't about to let that happen. They had plans to marry and then she just disappeared so now he not only wants answers but revenge as well and abducting her is the first step.
Rhapsody has been sheltered her entire life and what she really wants is a little independence and the only solution she can find is marriage. When Kol abducts her on her wedding day it appears she is going from one stifling situation to another and that she will never be free to experience life as she would like.
Despite what happened between them and the emotions they are both feeling the love between them was inevitable. He allows her to have new experiences while ensuring he is there to protect her and I enjoyed seeing her become the woman she was destined to be. The narrators had you feeling for he characters as they brought out the angst, heat, and suspense of the story.
