Today the prompt for Wyrd and Wonder is about series, either one we love or hate. I read a lot of series so it was very hard to pick just one.
The Invisible Library series by Genevieve Cogman
The first book in the series is the Invisible Library.
Irene Winters is a junior Librarian in the Library which exists between alternate worlds. Her mission is to save books from various worlds. To do that, she often has to use cover identities and get into places where she shouldn't be. In the first book, she's saddled with a trainee, the handsome and mysterious Kai. She wants to work alone but is now forced to show the ropes to the young man.
This series only gets better with each book. Irene has secrets in her past and so does Kai. Almost every book tells us something about them or their past. The alternate worlds are battlegrounds for order and chaos. Dragons are on the side of order and the fae are on the side of chaos. The Library tries to maintain a balance between them. The worlds that are ruled by order are more oriented toward technology while the chaotic worlds have magic, vampires, werewolves, and other mystical creatures.
