I, was, of course, too young to watch the show (I was five years old when I became aware of its existence), yet my older sister had a boyfriend that really liked it, especially being a fan of the character, Eric Cartman. What really attracted me to the series was the cut-out style of animation, which I later learned was computer-animation rendered to look like it was made entirely of construction paper; a feat that was impressive for something that seemed like a simple elementary school project. Of course, I knew it wasn't really for kids, but that didn't stop me from trying to catch a peek at the show when I got a chance, try as the elders in my family might to protect me from its evils. However, my earliest memory of South Park came from seeing that VHS tape from Blockbuster, which my sister and her boyfriend rented, lounging on the family sofa, and sneaking that piece of forbidden fruit in my bedroom to feast upon. By the next day, I immediately regretted it, and apologized to my sister (I had a guilty conscience for things I knew were wrong), though she laughed it off as she figured I would never do something so unholy as watching the South Park movie. | | | | You can also reply to this email to leave a comment. | | | | |
