I took this book out just before the holidays. The colorful display of recipes and sweets really appealed to me. And the recipes are easy to follow and delicious too. I actually made a few of Johnston's recipes.
There is something that says Christmas by this book. Everything celebrates every part of Christmas. And since I also love Christmas. I just fell in love with it.
I too start humming and singing Christmas carols in October. I too start planning all my home décor and I start making my Christmas gifts, many of which are baked goods.
The holidays are cold in the prairies because of where they are geographically. Typically, the prairies are snowier and colder than most of Canada, except for this past year.
So, there is so much in the Christmas holidays that has to do with hearth and home. And that is what Johnston celebrates on each page of this wonderful cookbook.
The book celebrates the quintessential classic Christmas recipes with over 120 recipes to celebrate the festive baker in all of us.
This cookbook is all you will need for any Christmas holiday baking time. I just love her recipes and the photographs of her creations. I would love to visit her home for Christmas. Because for me, Christmas really is the best time of year where family and friends can gather and celebrate good food and good friendship.
Thank you for reigniting that love for the holidays in me Karlynn. Your recipes are really amazing.
