Clusters of flowers line the streets and sidewalks petals like trumpets arrogantly announcing spring's arrival I drove past a building where around this time last year I watched two lovers kiss in the dark I like to imagine that I witnessed their first kiss the green ivy leaves clinging and crawling up the side of the wall like curious hands riddled with anticipation I stare at the red brick as I pass by and wonder if by dusk they were able to feel the warmth of the sun still soaked into the clay as they pressed against it sometimes we miss the feeling so hungry for touch until then I will settle to be on the sidelines cheering them on as a cheerleader, a proud parent at the assembly, a voyeur of their love.
