You thought you were home alone. Think again...
Anya is enjoying a relaxing bath when she hears a noise in the roof. Through the open bathroom door, she sees the attic hatch swing open, and a masked figure drops to the floor. Thirty seconds later, Anya is dead.
Across town, Anya's old school friend, Julia, sees an online video of a masked figure climbing out of an attic. She suddenly realises why the footage is eerily familiar. It was filmed inside her house.
Why would a stranger target Julia? Unless of course, it's not a stranger at all...

My Review
My second book by this author, and this is definitely my favourite of the two. The story begins with Anya. Her husband is away and she is enjoying a peaceful, relaxing bath on her own, until her loft hatch opens and a masked intruder enters her house. Across the town, Anya's friend, Julia has moved back to the area from America. They are living in a gated community, where access is limited to residents only. But nerves are set on edge when a video is posted on social media of someone entering a house through the loft hatch, and Julia discovers the house in the video is hers!
This was such a creepy read! The book opens with a bang when we meet Anya and discover her fate. I liked Julia's character, although as the book moved on I did begin to think that she was far too trusting of some people and should have listened to the concerns of her children more! Whilst the plot was gripping and I did enjoy it, I did think that they were all just a bit to naive about everything! I mean, if I heard movements in the loft, found things moved or missing and my son was telling me someone was coming into his bedroom in the night, I don't think I'd have stayed in the house a minute longer!
The storyline was full of suspense though, and it had lots of twists and turns as the story moved on. There were a couple of storylines running alongside each other, but this was done simply and it was all easy to understand. I loved the tension throughout the story and could feel this running through into me, making me keep an eye on any loft hatches, doors and windows in the vicinity just in case! I didn't guess where the storyline was going until it happened and loved the twist in the tale towards the end. If you're looking for a book which will set your nerves on edge, then this is the one! Overall, this was a great read and it held my attention throughout. Would definitely recommend!
