Today I'm delighted to be taking part in the blog tour for gorgeous summer read Love In Provence by Jo Thomas. Thank you to Anne Cater and Penguin Books for giving me the opportunity to read and review this wonderful book.
About the book:
Del moved to the south of France three years ago and hasn't looked back. She's found new friends, new purpose, and new love with gorgeous Fabien.
But now, just as harvest – the busiest time of the year at her little lavender farm – is due to begin, Del gets some shocking news. There's no time to dwell on it, however: she must welcome a new crew of lavender pickers while unexpectedly waving goodbye to Fabien for the summer.
Usually cooking – the thing she loves best – would help soothe her troubles, but Del doesn't remember how…
And then chef Zacharie comes to town, dropping another bombshell!
Over one summer in Provence that's full of surprises, friends old and new rally round.
Can they harvest the lavender and pull the community back together?
Will Fabien return?
And if he does, will Del finally get her happy-ever-after?
The perfect escape to take you away from it all – sunshine, food and romance among the lavender fields of Provence.
Jo Thomas' new summer novel is a follow-up to her no.1 bestseller Escape to the French Farmhouse.
About the author:
Jo Thomas worked for many years as a reporter and producer, including time atRadio 4's Woman's Hour and Radio 2's The Steve Wright Show. Jo's debut novel, The Oyster Catcher, was a runaway bestseller and won both the RNA Joan Hessayon Award and the Festival of Romance Best eBook Award.
Her recent book Escape to the French Farmhouse was a #1 bestselling eBook and in every one of her novels Jo loves to explore new countries and discover the food produced there, both of which she thoroughly enjoys researching.
Jo lives in Pembrokeshire with her husband and three children, where cooking and gathering around the kitchen table are a hugely important and fun part of their family life.
My Review:
I always know I'm in safe hands when I read a Jo Thomas novel and Love In Provence certainly didn't disappoint. The perfect summer read, it is a heartwarming tale of love and community that I thoroughly enjoyed from beginning to end.
In this follow up to number one bestseller Escape To The French Farmhouse, we catch up with Del three years after her move to the south of France. With her newfound friends, a new purpose in life and new love with the gorgeous Fabien, life couldn't get any better. But then Del gets some shocking news and, after waving an unexpected goodbye to Fabien, has no time to pull herself together before having to get ready to welcome a new crew of lavender pickers.
Not even cooking, the thing that usually brings a balm to her soul, can help lift her mood. But then chef Zacharie arrives in town, bringing with him yet another bombshell, and Del finds herself embarking on a summer in Provence filled with the kind of surprises that have the potential to change everything.
As everyone gathers to harvest the lavender, will the warm and sunny days of summer in Provence weave its magic once again and help bring the community back together? And, even more importantly, will Fabien return?
With an emotional and uplifting storyline and characters who steal your heart, Love In Provence is the perfect book to take with you to the beach this summer. Beautifully written as always by Jo Thomas, it is a gorgeous page turner of a read that I loved.
Highly recommended!
