Cast her gaze on the green Earth below
How she longed to feel human Love!
The Angel came falling, falling...
Down from empyrean Grace.
Her first human kiss filled her with bliss.
She willingly gave to Him her power
Gifted her wings so he could soar and fly.
In return he made her cry and cower
Curled up in pain and filled with shame
Her tears fell as a torrent of bitter rain.
For her Lover's heart was as black as night,
Whereas she was formed of celestial Light.
Sorrow etched the immortal's ethereal face
Realisation dawned; there was no eternal bliss
To be found in the cold, cruel lips of a devil's kiss.
He was to blame for her undoing and disgrace.
An Angel went falling, falling…
Down into eternal darkness of the abyss.
