Some general overall thoughts
I'm watching three really good Ultraman shows. Taro and Geed have been delights and Ginga S is so much better then Ginga so far. It's fun to watch good stuff consistently like this.
Ultraman Taro
This is the fifth Ultraman series and it's pretty different. Like ZAT wearing mostly blue retro space outfits instead of orange like every super police kind of group wore when fighting kaiju. The main protagonist named Kotaro Higashi returned to Japan from wherever and wanted to become a boxer. Too bad he joined ZAT and then was killed in a plane crash so he was revived as Ultraman Taro. It's a bit more goofy then the others and it kind of rocks.
You can watch Ultraman Taro on youtube here or tubi here.
Episode 20
This episode was such an interesting look at nature itself. Kotaro, Kenichi, and Saori are enjoying fireworks at a festival during the night time. Those fireworks intrigued the younger kaiju Raidron who left his mother and gets seriously hurt. The mother sent down so many lightning storms and called rain just to find and keep her child alive. This is an episode where Taro was a major thing, but ZAT and humanity itself were just there to see this event and affected by it. I find this so fascinating.
Episode 21
Really enjoyed this episode because it was about Cicadas being loud and people in Tokyo hating them. Especially the giant Cicada which appeared that didn't hurt anyone besides the noise it created in the city caused the people to attack it in which the giant Cicada fought back in horrifying degrees. The only being that provided the answer was Taro who took the Cicada away from the Earth to live somewhere else. It was interesting seeing ZAT having to deal with animal rights and the people at the same time because they aren't perfect for them either.
Episode 22
This episode was yet another animal nature episode focused on the newly wed couple that Kotaro knows. The husband being the person he knows that is also a hunter and the wife being the kind person who cares about nature. Especially since a situation where the wife fell down the mountain and the kaiju saved her while the guy became angry and starting shooting with his friends. It's sad that the conclusion was Taro separating the kangaroo kaiju and it's child from humanity but they can't live together at all.
Episode 23
This episode was peak insanity. It simply starts with Saori and Kenich riding in a car with a classmate, Rokuro, and his parents on a road trip. It's a situation where the mother constantly berates the father for being too quiet and not driving fast enough compared to strangers on the road. Then the situation constantly escalates with a Kaiju Rodera that can disintegrate cars and the mother coming up with the most ridiculous schemes that everyone listens to her for until the father has to save her from the Kaiju in the end. Also, Taro is there too like usual too and ZAT was a bit too over powered by the insanity of the crowd's pressure. It's kind of amazing how Taro can just keep doing this.
Episode 24-25
This arc was so dark and dramatic, yet so hopeful too. The appearance of a group of siblings nicknamed after the six Ultra brothers. Of course the world is attacked by a giant moth Kaiju that terrorizes the world and brings them into darkness. It's a test of the ultra brothers on Earth, but one for Taro and the real ultra brothers to bring it back. It's amazing stuff.
Ultraman Geed
This one has some interesting bits of lore behind it. Mainly sharing the complete backstory of Ultraman Belial in the beginning and then us meeting his supposed son on Earth. Even though Riku, the son, knows absolutely nothing about his past. Looks like this one is going to have some interesting things to say about the depths of good versus evil and whether or not a son of the evil Ultraman can be trusted.
Another one that I am watching on Tubi.tv. Watch it right here.
Episode 16-17
Geed continues to be full of these fantastic two episode arcs that put Rikku in a very dangerous situation and then solve it with some deus ex machina with some emotion. But even that is so good that I don't mind. In this set of episodes, Belial is on Earth. GEED (and Zero) do fight against him, but Rikku gets absorbed quickly because he put up no fight to him at all compared to how strong Belial is. The next episode is focused on Laiha talking to the Ultraking to bring Rikku back which Rikku merges with Ultraking to defeat Belial. In general, it's powerful stuff that makes me wonder what GEED is going to do next now that Belial is seemingly defeated and GEED has a higher approval rate.
Episode 18
This episode was crazy because there are so many things going on. After the defeat of Belial, his capsules have been spread about the city and AIB has managed to capture some of them. Part of this episode is an alien found a Legionoid chasing after Kaburagi Kei who lost his memories. Zero fought the strong robot and Riku went after Kei. Of course, another case of Kei running into another evil author who wants to fight on his side and so many things. I was wondering how this show would continue after Belial is defeated and this direction of inheriting Belial's will is so interesting.
Episode 19
This episode started simply with Kei just watching in the base or the Nebula House and kicking out Riku, Pega, and Laiha. The surprise itself was REM, the ai, also came out in a human girl form. Kei did get healed from the visit and this was a good characterization episode of REM after she was placed into a mecha Gomora after being controlled to fight Riku. Zero was distracted with selling something for the other author. REM also dug into Riku's ideas of she lives for herself not to be followed to just be created there either. It was such a wonderful sort of it of easy story telling here too.
Episode 20
This episode was great. I've never compared anything to the BSG episode of 33 before in Ultraman, but this episode was really close. The Kaiju Star Beam Gyeron appearing every day at 10 am despite it's destruction. It's amazing seeing GEED and they civilians working together to destroy it. It's a great in-between episode before Kei shows up again.
Ultraman Ginga S
Following the end of Ginga, this show is a much more standard sort of Ultraman series. Beings of unknown origin are taking away the underground empire's Victorium and Hikaru in his Ultraman Ginga form must help the mysterious underground world with his Ultraman Victory to bring them back. All with help from the UPG.

Episode 5
Yapool is here now with his abilities to mess with people through dimensions and taking over people to cause conflicts. He mainly took over one of the UPD members Gouki and uses that connection to mess with Hikaru and UPD because he isn't suspected at all. Plus, Gouki was the target because he was supposedly weak and that man resists even in his Kaiju form allowing Yapool to be defeated.
Episode 6
This episode introduced a new character, Hiyori, who is the last of a Victorian clan that was banished from under the earth and came back for revenge. She even took Shou's Ultraman transforming devices intending to destroy the Underground kingdom. This is an episode that really hinted at a past for that kingdom that could lead in so many directions. Especially adding so many interesting complex things that Ginga S needs. I hope Hiyori appears more often soon.
Episode 7
Pretty heavy episode because the Kaiju Shepherdon was attacked because he possess such a stronger amount of Victorium compared to the crystals, so kaiju were sent to absorb it while Zero-One invaded UPG with a bomb. This is the tensest episode with large moments of hilarity and tension while fighting off the enemy. Also, a major reveal of Hikaru showing he is Ginga in front of his boss. Some of that battle was won while Ginga and Victory ending up dying and letting go of Sho and HIkaru to live against the evil five king.
Episode 8
This episode was the ultimate tension fest from Zero-One being turned into a bomb herself to take down the UPG base to using Victorium to revive Ginga and Victory to defeat the evil brain in five king. It was a lot of good team work from all members of UPG to get the situation right hopefully for Victory and Ginga to defeat the give king and it did work out. It had a lot of really good drama and fight sequences all the way through where everyone played their part. Two things up, this show is very well directed and legible.
Episode 9
Misuzu returns. Also villain Chilbull is still up to no good despite his massive loss. Plus, Zero-One and Misuzu have an arc about them both needing each other to grow a little more. Especially when Misuzu found nothing special in her life. Also Shou/Victory and Hikaru/Ginga fight against Kaiju by actually working together. It's a good time with a lot of good growth.
