Halfway through June, and it doesn't feel like summer has quite started yet. But however it feels, summer music season is upon us, and for this (hopefully sunny) weekend, you're getting plenty of good stuff to listen to.
Eclectic, prog-leaning folk rockers The Decemberists are back with a new album, for those of you who like literary lyrics on these long days. Sea Girls provide instantly catchy and memorable Britpop tunes on their latest, and emo stalwarts The Early November have chosen mid-June for their new album's release. You can finally hear the new Annabel album after reading our review from yesterday, and get your soul on with the new EP from The Van Rays!
A few legends dropped new singles this week: hard rockers Def Leppard, classic rapper LL Cool J, and power pop veteran Nick Lowe. Raucous punks Fidlar dropped two new songs, and UK ska-punk Rat Boy has a new jam out for us. We're getting more excited with every new Los Campesinos! single, and were thrilled to have a new one from songwriter Jensen McRae (her first release on major indie Dead Oceans). Australian guitarist Hamish Anderson has a fine new track to preview his next album, and Stone Gossard side-project Painted Shield is back with the first track from their next one.
New crossover star Jelly Roll has released an uplifting new ballad which will surely be a crowd pleaser. Pale Waves have returned with a dreamy new single with a new album announcement, and young rocker Piper Connelly is proving herself the next wave with her latest single. We're also welcoming back Colourshop, Growing Stone, Dr. Dog, Anna Graves, Hermanos Gutierrez, Cloud Cult, Fucked Up, Mo Kenney, Syd, Seb, The Helltones, Arto Vaun, Silverada, Chaser, The National Parks, Speedfossil, Hayley and the Crushers, Myriad, Rob Baird, Cliffdiver, Lonnie Walker, Bobby Mahoney, Venus, Hinds, The Aquabats, Rare Americans, Coastal Club, Jelani Aryeh, The Red Clay Strays, Duran Jones, Grace Pettis, Health, Trevor Hall and The World is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die.
And this week, we're excited to introduce you to Denitia, J. Mamana, Nick & Lou, Greg Loftus, India Ramey, The Stews, Wild Ponies, Fig Dish, Tonto, Lloren, Moffat, Such Gold, Pavan Guru, Roger Weeks, Twinflame, Nova Charisma, Lost in Society, Pep Rally and Stone.
