Several years ago, I attended a conference virtually. During this conference, the keynote speaker was Amy Cuddy. In order to prepare for her to speak, I watched her TEDx Talk online. What a TEDx Talk it was!
I enjoyed her keynote so much that I bought her book, Presence. I'll admit though, I only read a few chapters and tucked it away to read later. Over the last couple weeks, I borrowed the digital book from a local library.
It actually didn't take long to read through this book. I'm not sure what was holding me back the first time! This book is full of stories related to not only being present, but having the confidence for any challenging situation. I've recently experienced job interviews where having that Wonder Woman confidence was extremely helpful. And I'm glad I was able to get through the interviews, even though I did not get the jobs I interviewed for.
Knowing that the idea of power posing worlds for people of all ages, even if you're in a wheelchair. It also works for animals! The ideas presented within this book is great for anyone who will be facing a challenge, whether it's a job interview or a sales call, speaking in front of a group of people, or meeting that special someone's family for the first time, whatever the case may be, go to the restroom and lock yourself into a stall and power pose for two minutes. You'll have way more confidence!
I give this book 5 out of 5 tiaras because of its usefulness to every day life. Thank you to Little, Brown and Company for publishing this amazing book!
