A rising name in the worlds of black metal is far from a rare sight anymore given the widespread that one can make simply by making the right moves on a platform like Bandcamp, but to come across one that's consistent and downright deadly at practically every turn is to come upon a rare find indeed. Out of the many acts that have risen to the occasion to lend their names to such a fierce competition throughout the underground, Vimur is one that has been cropping up time and again since its first album ten years ago. Now, with the arrival of its fourth album on the horizon, Vimur poises itself yet again to showcase why their sudden rise has been one to keep a sharp eye on.

Across the many different styles that grace the sound, black metal has never been lacking when it comes to names willing to try their hands at honoring the classic veins of the style while many others sought to push it to brand new heights. A strong vision of icy reaches and starlit northern forests while the blaze of rebellion burns bright in the face of the supposedly righteous is something that black metal has become known for with acts like Vimur knowing precisely how to capitalize on such a concept from their very inception. With their arrival of "The Timeless Everpresent", there is certainly an argument to be made that Vimur has topped itself with these eight utterly hypnotizing tracks. You can feel the very heavens wheel overhead with the majesty that Vimur wields in each given minute of this record with the impressive melodies and immense presence constant throughout the whole of the record to make the work not just an obvious highlight for the likes of Vimur, but a clear victory for all that black metal can possibly be. Straightforward but with more than enough personality to amplify the already-impressed power that's all but expected from Vimur at this point, how can one not lose themselves in the vast excellence that "The Timeless Everpresent" boasts around practically every turn?

Where the potential for magnificence presented itself, Vimur has been known to tackle it time and again. For their fourth offensive, that proves to be no different. The natural continuation of the band's sonic evolution that's a bold step forward without forgetting its roots, "The Timeless Everpresent" is arguably a mandatory piece for any self-respecting modern black metal fan out there looking for something to really sink their teeth into.

"The Timeless Everpresent" releases on July 26th via Avantgarde Music!
