Julien Neaves, Caribbean Head Writer
Barbadian webseries Badness by Life Over Death Productions is like the mafia in The Godfather Part III, "Every time I think I'm out, they keep pulling me back in."
Episode 3 continues the war between gangsters Demon and Mega-Man (gotta love that name) and their allies. In Episode 2, they experimented with inserting graphics for the character names, which I found helpful as there are no credits. But in Episode 3 their experimentation with screen wipes and transitions was so overboard that it gave me whiplash.
The episode features more acts of random violence, crime and "gun talk" (threats and intimidation). But the highlight is easily female gangster and Demon ally "Not Nice" getting into a brawl with Mega-Man's sister. It is delightfully over-the-top and unintentionally hilarious. And who does not want to see two full-bodied women wrangling on the ground like a budget MMA fight? There is also a subplot a stolen chain involving a character I can't even remember which group he is aligned to, and that was much less interesting. Episode 3 was probably the least interesting episode so far, but it gave me enough to check out the next one (there are 12 episodes, if you can believe it).
Editor Jules' Score: 4 out of 10
