Review: Cally Taylor is an absolute force and Every Move You Make is a gripping tale that will have you on the edge of your seat from the off. This is a captivating rollercoaster read from start to finish. My only downside was life got in the way, on publication day I listened to a good few hours and was itching for my break it should have been finished in a day or so but in some ways I'm glad I got to spend more time with this intriguing bunch.
I find it fascinating how Cally continues to knock it out of the park and this time she's delved into something wholesomely personal. Make sure you read or listen to the authors note as it's truly powerful in showing how much heart and soul she's put into this novel.
From the off I was intrigued and very quickly the story took a heart wrenching toll on the group and on me as a reader. For me this book will make you think of everything and anything and will keep you up long into the night. How I found myself listening at silly hours after work I'll never know but I was truly captivated. I also liked the fact that the man in the group River was showcased in a number of ways. Never ever judge someone else's story only they know the true reality of what they have been through. Giving a whole new meaning to keep your friends close and enemies closer.
Each chapter gave you a different person's perspective sometimes on the same thing as the last sometimes on delay. Depending on where their story is taking you. As much as it's about a group of people ultimately they are all individuals in their own right with their own tale to tell. Some harder to hear than others.
There are many twists and turns along the way and you'll second guess and doubt everyone. Isn't that the basis of a perfect thriller read? Once again Cally had me hooked and wanting more I spent longer with this bunch than I expected in both listening to this and finishing penning my thoughts, but this is definitely one of my favourites from 2024.
