The new album is Dokken's first release in 11 years and what most people talk about when it comes to the band is singer Don Dokken's voice. I can understand why because recent clips of the band playing live has shown Don mumbling through the songs with no range at all remaining. But this is a studio effort and we all know that even a declining voice can be helped with studio equipment in this day and age. I'm a fan of Dokken and their early records are all brilliant. Even the reunion album Dysfunctional from 1995 is a real killer. But after that one the quality have been up and down on the albums, all six of them. Shadowlife (1997) was even a piece of pure crap.
