Halfway through 2024 – Some Numbers

In general, blogging has changed since I started out about 15 years ago - of course, it has, right? That's a long time. It's also changed in the last 5 years or so.

I think it's quieter in some ways, easier in others.

One thing that hasn't changed, is that I keep writing and posting - even in the absence of a schedule. It's still a lot of fun, and so I reckon that I'll keep posting until it isn't fun, or more likely, until I can't afford the hosting fees, lol.

And so, despite missing my 5-year anniversary for The Review Heap (just last month), I still wanted to take note of that moment with some numbers, categories and links 🙂

And so, strap yourself in for a long-ish post where I share stats, think out loud, and make plans!

Some Goals

So, based on the above info, it's nice to see what I've let slide, and thus, what I maybe now have a chance to rectify 😀

Immediately, I want to reach 300 reviews total this year.

That's the main, most important goal I'll set. Next, I think a few more Anime OP-ED posts shouldn't be too difficult to include before 2024 runs out.

I mean, basically, I'm keen to do more of every item on the above list, but I think I want to focus on some before others. And the main two would be another Full Series Review, and another Comparison.

So, what should I focus on for those two categories?

Comparison: It's probable that I'll choose Birdy the Mighty OVA (1996) vs Birdy the Mighty: Decode (2008) as planned, or something even shorter, to compare, I think.

Full Series Review: This is more difficult to decide.

Cowboy Bebop, finally?

Ergo Proxy?

Maybe The Big O?

Something else, altogether?

Whatever I end up with, I think it will be something I want an excuse to re-watch 😀

Also - open to suggestions!

And maybe a new challenge would be worth it, something like... you suggest something from a genre or style that I rarely watch? Hmmm...

Finally, with 20 missing entries noted up there - I really need to finish my A-Z Challenge XD. (And to do so, I'll shoot for the end of 2025, as a deadline for that one).
