Here's Adam Simpson having a good old swipe at the West Australian, aka The Worst Australian, in his farewell press conference:
Which was followed by the West's utterly shithouse front page about Simpson, who coached a damn premiership for the Eagles, coming courtesy from their back page glass-jawed wankers Jaked Waddell and Mitchell Woodcock, better known as Cockwood or Wood Dick.
This is an actual quote about that front page from Simpson's manager Shane Casley:
"It's really hard to believe that they'd lead with that headline. He's been a great coach and he's a premiership coach. You would have thought he would have been treated with a little bit more respect."
Especially since he helped their sorry excuse for journalists with content for 250+ articles about Harley Reid since he was drafted, compared to the 2 articles they've written about Fremantle being Top 4 contenders.
All told, that pathetic excuse of a front page reminds me of a line by former Prime Minister Paul Keating during a press conference well over 30 years ago, which had his captive audience in raptures:
"It's the sort of gimmicky question that I expect from the worst newspaper in the country, the West Australian."
Surely the best part of that video isn't Keating's classic verbal barbed wire, it's the other journalists in the room applauding after Keating insults the West Australian, and all Randal Markey can do is just sit there with a face like a stuck arse.
They were shit 30 years ago and they're even worse now, run by a bunch of childish ex-News Corp plonkers.
