Okay, June was different from what I expected reading and personally speaking. Yep, I wasn't focused on anything, and the period was challenging, especially at work. It took me some time to understand what it was; initially, I was sure it was the weather. It was raining like hell, but the temperature was high, then it was cold, you just don't know what to wear so I just thought that I didn't have any vitamin D and I missed the sun as the sky was grey, but no I had the Covid, for the first time and I was so exhausted that I could only sleep and that all. For everything else, I was just a robot.
After this, I started to fall into a reading slump as I was still exhausted from what happened. I didn't have enough motivation to read except after work when I went to the café to read a little. I try to beat myself to do it as if I don't, and I won't read, but the problem is when it's the weekend, I don't want to read or anything. So yeah, again, I wasn't the most up-to-date on my blog in June, as even if I read, I have a writing block. I can't write about the books I read, so I decided for my mental health to not put pressure and just read. I hope it won't be the same in July, especially since I fear a reading slump.

My objective next month is to finish the book I started in June, What the River Knows by Isabel Ibañez. It's the first book in a series with mixed media. You follow a girl named Inez who decided to go to Egypt for the first time following the death of her parents, who kept their life there from her. It's for now, I'm at 48%, a great read which is full of suspense and magic. I was initially surprised by some aspects of it, but it's interesting to read when you go over it.
Again, in July, I need to read at least one book, an ARC, that will be published in August. I have a deadline, as I need to publish it two weeks before the release date. To be honest, I'm a little worried because it's quite a long one, and the pagination is strange since it's an ARC, but at the same time, I'm excited because it's during the Medici era.
Regarding the releases, even if I already read the Arc (review here), I need to have the book, so my most anticipated book is Queen B by Juno Dawson, which is the prequel of her series, Her Majesty's Royal Coven or HMRC.
My recommendation from this month's readings is Coco Mellors's Cleopatra and Frankenstein. Although I was wary of reading this book, it was a great discovery, and after finishing it, I immediately bought her second book.
That's all for June. Do you have any tips for avoiding a reading slump? I think I will need them for July. See you next month!
