Blurb:
Tall. Muscled. Tattooed.
Shane King was seriously hot, and seriously not a good guy.
He went by the name Ghost with his motorcycle club, and he was now their national vice president.
When Shane and his club arrived in town, they began doing favors for my family.
I didn't know why. I didn't want to know.
Favors came with strings attached. I didn't want strings attaching me to the Red Demons.
Shane was a different beast, though.
I should steer clear of him, except I couldn't.
He was everywhere, and he always looked like he wanted to tie me up in all sorts of strings.
A part of me wanted to let him.
A part of me yearned to let him.
But no.
Shane might act like the hero, but he wasn't.
He was the villain.
And I was about to learn that the strings that came with Shane…
…they would be my unraveling.
My 4* Review:
Frisco by Tijan is a standalone brother's best friend, MC romance between Kalista 'Kali' Michaels and Shane King aka Ghost of the Red Demons MC. This is full of drama, suspense, intrigue and betrayal, as well as complicated family and friend relationships. When the going gets tough will Shane choose his woman or his club?
Kali left when she got married but recently found herself back home after she caught her husband cheating. Her divorce from Foley is still a painful subject but her best friends and now roommates Aly and Harper, have supported and helped her.
The Red Demons have only been in town a week and she's intrigued as to why they are there. She knows her brother's best friend Shane is with them and still in contact with Connor. They were all at high school together and she had a crush on him but hasn't seen him in twenty years. She knows the MC are bad news and Shane is now a dangerous guy. An incident at her work brings them together and she is shocked her attraction to him is back with vengeance.
Shane joined the MC after serving in the military and is now the national VP. He is a killer and a one-percenter, who will do anything for his club. He had a thing for Kali in school but Connor warned him off when he knew Shane wanted her. He didn't know she was back in town and once he sees her again, he knows he still wants her. He loves that she challenges him and is smart.
Kali finds out the MC have been helping her mum and her sister Claudia, and she's not convinced over the explantation Shane gives her. When the MC start asking questions about her, she reluctantly visits her family and this is the catalyst for everything that happens. Shane and the MC leave town to help The Frisco charter but Claudia follows them. Kali and her friends embark on a road trip to bring Claudia home but she is absolutely crazy and refuses to leave.
The story is then action packed as Shane battles his feelings for Kali while he has to deal with trouble from the cartel and find out if the Frisco charter has been betrayed. Kali just can't resist Shane and things escalate quickly between them but she's worried about being in the biker world and all it entails. She's scared at what has she got herself into, and worries if she could handle his lifestyle. Shane is a strong VP under a lot of pressure but with Kali he was so patient and thoughtful.
Kali and Shane's romance isn't the only one in the book as Harper, Aly and Claudia all have love interests. There are links to other Tijan books as some scenes take place in Fallen Crest. There is a lot of suspense throughout the book over Connor and his involvement with the MC. I found Harper and Aly were very immature at times and some of their decisions selfish and annoying.
There are revelations and twists as the story builds to an end. Who will survive when everyone is a target and Shane doesn't know who to trust. Will Kali stand by her man or choose her friends?
The epilogue was a little disappointing and I felt there were questions left unanswered so wonder if we may get more from some of these characters.
