Meet Angela Casella:
Angela Casella lives in Asheville, North Carolina in an almost-one-hundred-year-old house with her daughter, two dogs, and an ever-changing number of fish. She worked as a developmental editor for years, both as a freelancer and at Random House in NYC before she started writing (inspired by her friend and frequent co-author Denise Grover Swank!). Now, it's become an addiction, and she'd rather not be cured, thank you very much.

Due to her past Lainey wants to help people who have wronged by the people in their lives. It is for this reason she agrees to take an assignment where she will reclaim the necklace that was stolen from her client by Jake, her ex. What was supposed to be a single case takes a few twists and turns and she now finds herself teaming up with the man who was supposed to be her mark.
Jake has his reasons for having the necklace and the reasons have nothing to do with the woman who hired Lainey or money. Now he and Lainey must learn to trust each other as they try and uncover the truth behind the situation they find themselves in.
Both Lainey and Jake haven't had the best of luck when it comes to romance which makes them cautious but between the fun times, the flirty times and the intrigue they show that they are perfect for each other in every way.
