Nichole Wagner has already garnered a number of accolades in her musical career, from rave reviews from respected publications like Americana Highways, to being called "one of Austin's most promising young singer-songwriters". Her songwriting is steeped in classic American songwriting styles, with hints of heartland rock, Americana and folksy insight in her lyrics. Her vocals convey a sultry wisdom and wearied soulfulness that make her songs stand out in the musical crowd. One can hear all these qualities in "A Way With It", the first single from her latest album Plastic Flowers.
Written with Jeremy Parsons, and taking influence from Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, the track addressing the struggle of dealing with loved ones in the thrall of addiction. There's a blend of melancholy and resignation in Wagner's delivery, singing "How long has it been? Since you pulled me in? Tried to right all your wrongs, 'cause I knew you never would" while an arrangement based around acoustic guitars, 70's organ and a Laurel Canyon rhythm section gives the track a timeless sound.
