Hello hello hello everybody it's Craaaaaaazy Raygun Craig, TBFB, Scratchie King of Bairnsdale, and you're probably not wondering why did I bugger off for a few weeks without notice?
Well, Crazy Colin and myself decided to binge watch the Olympic Games with a run of all-nighters to rival Andrew Johns in the early 2000s, and my goodness me, I think some of those people representing our great nation have given us average punters HOPE...
Hope that we can get to the Olympic Games in Los Angeles or Brisbane, because they were so SHIT!
Anyway, I've been busy catching up on my sleep patterns for the last week, and we're just about ready to re-engage with the upcoming Spring Carnival, and not a minute too soon, because we've got just 1 week to go until the first Group 1 of the new racing season, with the feature race for this weekend being the PB Lawrence Stakes at Caulfield, and I've gone for the Bronx Bomber from New York...
PINSTRIPED.
An ironic name, because his silks don't seem to have any form of pinstripes on them!
Still, Pinstriped ran 2nd to Mr Brightside in this race last year, then went on and won the Feehan to qualify for the Cox Plate, but that was pretty much a write off in the early stages, then his lone run in the Autumn, the All-Star Mile of all races, wasn't much better as he knuckled at the start and finished 10th in a field of 12...
BUT, this time in he's had 3 good barrier trials, not that anyone in Victoria saw them because Racing Victoria's coverage of barrier trials is absolute crap, and he's done his best work 1st Up with 2 wins and 2 second placings from 6 1st Up runs...
However, I'll leave you with this timeless quote from Catch Me If You Can, which is rather pertinent to the name of the horse:
"You know why the Yankees always win, Frank?"
"Because they have Mickey Mantle?"
"No, it's because the other teams can't stop looking at those damn PINSTRIPES."
You don't bet on Pinstriped because of his FORM, you bet on him because of his UNIFORM.
