For eight years now, Ironflame has been a consistent name that always knew how to deliver heavy metal greatness. Now, with its fifth record, Ironflame only cements its status.
A clear infusion of power metal can really elevate any work of straight heavy metal into a completely different realm so long as the band in question handles the qualities and calculations properly such that neither overpower one another or the potion is just all off in practically every regard. From the beginning, Ironflame has been made known to be a particularly intelligent mixer of such concoctions as their material has made evident over the years. With all that's brought to the table for "Kingdom Torn Asunder", I think it is more than safe to say that their power has yet to wane. Eight tracks of overwhelming riffs and undeniable intoxication from beginning to end, this is what it means to bring unparalleled glory to the sound in today's world! "Kingdom Torn Asunder" continuously chugs forth to become what is sure to be regaled as a banner work for heavy metal in 2024 even given some of the stiff competition that the years has already thrown our way. The pedigree and passion of Ironflame speaks volumes in each instance here with every song containing unending intoxication, hypnotism, and the purest steel that one could ask for when diving into the depths of all that the metal underground has to offer. Plain and simple in its approach but gorgeous in its execution, this album is an obvious victory for all of heavy metal.
This is what comes about when mastery meets adoration. Ironflame's majestic hold over all things heavy metal is the sort of splendor that we could always use more of with few able to even come close to tapping into that magical leyline like what Ironflame has accomplished here. For all that's to be found within "Kingdom Torn Asunder", it needs to be made clear that this is a true embodiment of what happens when the best qualities of the genre are taken into great consideration through great care.
