All I can say is HOLY SHIT.
This is third book in the Kings of the Boardroom following the explosive events of the end of Acquisition after Gwyn was injured leading the Atticus revert back to the version of himself where he is on autopilot trying to protect Gwyn from the threats that seem to always be after them.
Even through everything that Atticus puts in place to keep Gwyn safe, he withdraws in an attempt to help her heal when she needs nothing more than her husband by her side. After a very in his face awakening from Gwen (wink, wink), Atticus realizes that he needs to find a balance of protection, love, and attentiveness without making Gwen feeling isolated and alone.
Despite them falling into a routine of love and better communication, there is still the unknown threat looming over them as the person who shot Gwen is still lingering around, and each lead seems to lead them to a dead end which makes Atticus feel like he is failing his wife when he is the one to ensure her health and safety.
This book is filled with twists and turns as Gwen and Atticus continue to navigate life as a newly married couple while learning how to give what the other needs without being overbearing or under attentive.
Happy reading until next time,
