I feel lucky this week, as I had jury duty on Wednesday and was excused within the first 1.5 hours. With luck on my side, I feel confident that the new releases this week will be quite pleasing to the ears.
Of course, when you have new albums from critically acclaimed artists like Fontaines D.C., Pete Yorn, lovelytheband and Illuminati Hotties, it's hard not to imagine what you hear will be great. The singles already released sort of give that away.
But wait, is that...yes, we have two new tracks from blink-182, previewing the upcoming deluxe edition of One More Time. Whoo hoo! There's also new ones from other artists I love like Less Than Jake, Lucius, Soul Asylum and Christian Lee Hutson! New Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Foreigner have dropped a never-released new track for an upcoming compilation that is full of the hooks and bombast you would expect from them, while new rock goddess Diamante shows off her power vocals on her latest track.
Coldplay have shared their second single from their new album, and it comes chock full of features. There's new folk rock goodness from Dawes, and an Aerosmith cover from Butch Walker. And then there's a new song from...The New Radicals??? Actually, it's just the original version of the track "Lost Stars" that Gregg Alexander wrote for Begin Again, but we'll take it! Also excited to have the latest tracks from NMF alums like State Champs, Sydney Sprague, Megan Payne, Sonny Singh, Go Betty Go, Savanna Leigh, Casual Male, The Kilograms, Rat Boy, JD McPherson, Samantha Franks, Frozemode, Valley, Abstract Crimewave, SYML, The National Parks, Silverstein, Massive Nightmares, Brian Dunne, Amythyst Kiah, Suburban Eyes, Blondshell, Trevor Hall, American Authors, Kill Lincoln, Donavon Frankenreiter, Laura Jane Grace, Good Neighbours and Sam Barber.
