Review For Rally By Devney Perry.

Blurb:

Pregnant. Homeless. Broke. Not what I'd expected for my senior year in college. Neither was Rush Ramsey.

We met the day I went camping and got stranded on the side of a gravel road. I didn't believe in white knights who freed damsels in distress. Life had taught me that if something bad could happen, it probably would. The only person who would save me was me.

But Rush Ramsey rescued me that day. He was sweet and kind and charming. He made a dark, starry night a little less lonely.

I should have realized it was too good to be true. That an incredible night of passion would come with consequences. That the bad luck rollercoaster I'd been riding for twenty-one years wasn't ready to stop.

Because Rush Ramsey, Treasure State University's most eligible bachelor and quarterback extraordinaire, just got me pregnant.

My 4.5* Review:

Rally by Devney Perry is book three in her college football romance series and the timeline runs concurrently with the previous two books. We are back in Mission, Montana with the Treasure State Wildcats for this accidental pregnancy story about Rush Ramsey and Faye Gannon. A slow burn, push and pull relationship as they come to terms with the consequences of a one night stand. Rush is a good guy just trying to do the right thing but will Faye let him? Can they have their baby and still follow their dreams?

"We'll figure this out. We'll rally."

Faye has had a really hard life. She has been independent from a young age and sacrificed a lot to be a senior so she could make something of herself when she graduates. She works hard at Dolly's and her boss Dusty has become a mother figure to her. A flat tyre in the middle of nowhere leads to her meeting the most attractive man she has ever seen. Rush is a sweet, quiet and home loving guy. He plays football and plans to graduate then play in the NFL. He first meets Faye while he is on his way for a much needed weekend away.

He is shocked she has never heard of him as he's the star QB of the football team but is really taken by this spitfire of a redhead. She is surprised how funny and smart he is. They end up chatting about their relationship problems after she stops threatening him with her bear spray. They are from very different worlds so neither think they will see each other again. However, a month later, they meet at a bar and give into the attraction and have a fantastic night together.

Faye is scared to tell him at first because why would he want a poor pregnant waitress. She hates asking for help as been told her whole life she's not good enough. Rush is shocked and confused over the situation with Faye and has no idea what to do. He's been thinking about her but isn't ready to be a dad .Neither know what to do and she's very stubborn and proud. Can he knock down her walls and show her he will be there for her and 'Squish'.

"The NFL draft is all about picks. You're my pick."

They know it won't be easy but want to try. He hopes she'll want him like he wants her. She realises he makes her feel what she's never felt before. There are many problems to face including family drama and campus gossip.I felt her sister Gloria, was a typical teenager and didn't appreciate all Faye did for her. It was lovely how his parents, Coach Ellis and Millie stood by him when his best friend Mav struggled with the situation. There is a teaser about him and Stevie, so looks as it might be an enemies to lovers story next?

Lovely epilogue about how they work everything out and what they are up to six years later. A very realistic look at a young couple facing up to their unexpected pregnancy.
