Teeth – The Will of Hate

While the once-breakneck rate of technical death metal releases have slowed down as of late, there's still more than enough madness to go around should one simply know where to look with a little bit of luck certainly going quite a distance. At any given moment, there are plenty of acts across the globe that are crafting new material in their own cauldrons with such concoctions so villainous in nature and potent in all of its glorious power, and it's only a matter of time before such madness spills over and infects the world at large. Having made their name now in the world of technical death metal, Teeth now poises itself to properly take over the sound with its third full-length album.

At some point, technicality in death metal can really feel like a sort of flex that can become boring if bands begin treading the same lines and never once challenge themselves to try something different or bring some fresh to the table even if it's only mildly so. When Teeth first dipped their toes in the style, it goes without saying that they made quite a splash, and time has only honed their craft with their third offering nothing short of an overwhelming beast of an album that is out for the very soul of the universe with nothing able to stand in its way. From top to bottom, "The Will of Hate" is an utterly ferocious piece! Disgusted by the simple reality of its existence and all the acutely hideous sensations of the flesh that comes with it, this album sees Teeth come into their most mature form of technical death metal yet with fewer tangents and a far more focused approach that feels downright surgical in some instances while always making damn sure to leave plenty of room for the type of unbridled butchery that one simply cannot easily put to the side lest their get burnt by such a ferocious flame. It's an absolute deluge that just won't stop until the only thing left in existence to consume is itself. Teeth has put forth a truly magnificent display of their vast understanding of the style and craft with "The Will of Hate" not just standing as another record for the band, but the next step in their sonic evolution as well as the next stage of their conquest to lay waste to all that technical death metal has to offer.

We have a litany of new names to the genre at any given moment, but there are only a handful of such rising acts that can ever hope to do so much as hold a torch to the likes of Teeth. What they did before was to be applauded for its magnificence, but it's here with "The Will of Hate" that they've well and truly designed a vehicle of mass destruction that is to be feared in every form. Otherwise, you will be ripped from this reality inch by inch, one bone at a time, atom by atom.

"The Will of Hate" releases on August 30th via Translation Loss Records!
