THE ONLY HEART THAT MATTERS

Lisa Shelby

Release Date: August 23

Meet Lisa Shelby:

Lisa Shelby is an international bestselling contemporary romance author. She's also a self-proclaimed love geek and cake-pop addict. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, this is still where Lisa calls home with her husband and their dogs. When she isn't writing her next happily ever after, you can find Lisa with her husband traveling, listening to live music, and impatiently waiting for her next FaceTime call with her son, who is currently deployed with the United States Marine Corps.

I've known Mia Powell since the day she was born.

She's my sister's best friend, my mom's God-daughter and the mother of the sweetest two-year old I've ever met. Even if she won't reveal who his father is.

When she unexpectedly needs a place to stay, I don't hesitate to offer up my house on the family ranch. However, I didn't anticipate Mia's new boss mistaking me for her husband and the father of her child.

The secrets between us may keep us apart in the real world, but a fake relationship... that's a role I'm happy to play for her.

At least until the lines between fantasy and reality begin to blur.

I never should've stolen that first kiss. Never should have thought one night would get her out of my system. Never should have grown so attached to her little boy.

When this is all over, Mia and her son will walk away with my heart.

It doesn't matter though, it's always belonged to her.

Mia is a single mother whose son Sawyer is her whole world. She has been best friends with Angus's sister for years and friends with him as well however her feelings run deeper. Their relationship takes a turn when they find themselves as roommates who are pretending to be in a relationship.

Angus has always put the needs of others before himself which is why he hasn't pursued anything with Mia beyond a friendship. He will be there to support Mia and Sawyer in every way he can but living together and seeing the life they could have together has him wondering if they could have it all.

Mia and Angus's story is one filled with secrets both when it comes to the past and their unspoken feelings for each other. The relationship they share is special so even though they had a lot of turmoil to overcome there is no denying they were always destined to be together.
