Summary: Emily is in her final face off against the shadows attacking Alledia, and she must utilize the stone and it's powers one last time in order to save everyone.
Review: I like Amulet, but I don't LOVE Amulet. It's a story that's fine while I'm reading it, but as soon as I put it down, I've forgotten pretty much everything that's happened. Something about the plot just doesn't click with me, and I'm not sure what it is. With that being said, I was excited to read this book and finish this series finally.
The characters were fine, but I really don't like when new characters are introduced in the last part of a series (such as Ronin and her Stonekeeper apprentice kids, or the two giant beasts who were Stonekeepers and helped Emily). I never care about them, but I kind of have to for the plot, and then they're given even more importance to the plot than some of the OGs. For example, Leon. What was his role in the series, truly? He was the cover of the original books, and now he's there as an afterthought with two lines of dialogue the whole book. It feels poorly planned almost.
As always, though, the art is epic and gorgeous. There are many breathtakingly beautiful full page spreads that made me stop and stare at the mesmerizing artwork.
Really, I'm just not sure if graphic novels are for me. There's not usually enough characterization, or enough plot. I'm honestly excited to be done with the series, which isn't a rave review, but I'm excited for myself!
