Don't Stay Up Late by R.L. Stine is the second book in the Fear Street Re-Launch series. In this book, Lisa gets a job as a babysitter after being in a terrible car accident and experiencing nightmares. When night after night, a demon breaks into the house, Lisa begins to suspect her boyfriend, Nate. But who is actually the demon and will anyone believe Lisa?

I really enjoyed this book. It is creepy and suspenseful while still fitting in the "fun" horror genre. There is a recurring red herring throughout which really throws you off from what is actually happening which I thought was interesting.

I really liked R.L. Stine's writing style. It is very straightforward and matter of fact while still managing to have a mysterious tone to it.

Finally, I thought the characters were intriguing. I was never really sure who the demon was or who was responsible for it and the reveal near the end showed how complicated that web really was. Stine did a fantastic job of throwing suspicion off of certain characters while throwing it onto others, which was great.

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a "fun" horror novel full of suspense which is reminiscent of classic horror stories.
