At the time, I was never aware of Aardman's other works (Wallace & Gromit, Creature Comforts, etc.), but I knew that I saw something truly special. The animation, done with Plasticine clay, felt fresh while maintaining a sense of goofy dignity, and Chicken Run became one of the biggest films of the year: 2000! Just when I thought Aardman's style was waning, the studio crafted a sequel we have been waiting to see, albeit on Netflix.
