Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Today's topic is our most anticipated releases for the first half of 2024.
I only picked out 8 for today. I'm not a new release reader—I just have so many things on my shelves already that unless it's something I'm really, really, really interested in, chances are I won't read it in its release year. I'll probably only read half of these, but I'm excited nonetheless so let's get into them.
The Atlas Complex (The Atlas #3) by Olivie Blake
I really loved The Atlas Six when I read it in 2022, but I'd been waiting for this one to be released before I continued. I think this is just one of those series that needs to be read back to back to be enjoyed properly. It's out today, January 9th and I already have it on hold at the library. I think it's going to be a good six weeks or so before my copy comes in, but that gives me time to read the first two.
Castle of Nevers and Nightmares (Season of the Sluagh #1) by Lana Pecherczyk
This is one I'm pretty sure I'm not going to get to this year as much as I'd like to. It comes out February 26th but I still have five more books in the original series. This is one of my favourite series so I am incredibly excited for it, I just know that I might not get there. This one doesn't have a cover yet.
A Fate Inked in Blood (Saga of the Unfated #1) by Danielle L. Jensen
Again, I'm pretty sure this one won't get read either. I try not to have more than one series on the go from any one author and I'm only on book two of Jensen's Bridge Kingdom series. I'm really enjoying it so I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for this one. It's released on February 27th.
Lore of the Wilds by Analeigh Sbrana
Another February 27th release. This is a romantasy with an enchanted library and two fae love interests, so basically, sign me up. I'm on the lookout for some new romantasy authors to obsess over and this debut sounds like a serious contender.
The Poisons We Drink by Bethany Baptiste
I first heard about Bethany Baptiste because of the Cait Corrain drama. I looked up all the authors who were targeted and put most of them on my TBR, but this was the one that stuck out to me. I think the world sounds fantastic—the protagonist is a brewer of illegal love potions who gets sucked into seeking revenge for her mother's death and there sounds like there will be some political intrigue maybe. Whatever it is, I'm here for it. This one is released on March 5th.
The Familiar by Leigh Bardugo
I've been trying to write this section for about twenty minutes. I wanted to talk about how I sort of forget how much I like Leigh Bardugo until I read things from her but I don't knowhow much sense that makes. Anyway, I think this is going to be really interesting—it's historical fantasy, set in Madrid which should be really fun and different from the Grishaverse and Ninth House and I'm excited. It's out on April 9th and I've already preordered the audiobook.
Only and Forever (Bergman Brothers #7) by Chloe Liese
April 9th is a big day since this one is being released as well. I've been a fan of Chloe Liese for ages now and I'm kind of sad that this will be the end of the Bergman Brothers but I'm also really excited for it. I'm rereading the entire series between now and probably April/May and I just think it's going to be so fun.
Daydream (Maple Hills #3) by Hannah Grace
Last but not least, I'm so excited to get to return to the Maple Hills universe on June 4th. I think like most fans of the series, I am beyond excited to get Henry's story. He's been a favourite pretty much since he first appeared in Icebreaker and I can't wait to see how his story unfolds.
And that's it. Are any of these on your most anticipated list? What are you most looking forward to?
