The Last Big Mecha March (At least for now)
I hinted about this on my blogiversary post, but this is going to be the last major Mecha March on Mechanical Anime Reviews. At least for the coming future. That doesn't mean it's going to stop, but I can't keep going through multiple fifty episodes or series and write about them each year. Next year in 2025 and beyond that, Mecha March is going to have a much smaller list of shows that I'm going to review. The other posts will be more discussion posts that are easier to write. There comes a point where it just gets too hard.
This is also the last year for Mecha Madness because running has just been so hard. I tried my best to make it easier by using google forms, but writing the google form and creating the tournament bracket thing and then following it is kind of tedious. Especially when running it by myself. I need to think about what kind of special event I want to do for next year and beyond that is easy but also just a lot of fun. That already sounds tough, but at least I have over a year to think about what it could be. Or another possibility is working with someone else.
The Shows Selected for Mecha March 2024
I originally had the idea of sharing Go Nagai series that almost no one knows outside of Mazinger Z, Devilman, and Cutie Honey. So there are a few of those shows in what I want to cover. After that, it became whatever I wanted to after it. So there is no real thematic resonance, I just wanted to watch and write about some cool stuff. Especially since some of these are pretty popular franchises, just different editions of them. Ok, let's get to that list.

Mecha March posts will start on Friday, March 1st, 2024.
Mecha Madness 2024
For this third and final year for Mecha Madness, we are doing yet another tournament arc for mecha supremacy. I think that it's going to be handled the same way. There will be a post for people to select their favorite anime mecha media from different decades (tv shows, movies, ovas, etc) and the top will make it to the bracket in some kind of order. As usual, expect some bias because there is no way my opinion is not going to leak into the show somehow.
-Mecha March 2024 Poll will appear on Feb 17, 2024
-There will be 20 shows from each decade on it (if there are 20 or more available) and they will be decided by me.
-Voting for each decade is not required
-First Round of Mecha Madness will start on Feb 24, 2024
-32 shows in total will be on the bracket.
-The Champion will have to face Patlabor on Television for mecha supremacy.
