Jimmy is a star when it comes to his ability to throw the baseball on the field, but it is what he is doing off the field that has drawn the ire of team management. He has now been assigned to work with the team's public relations to show there is more to his reputation but once he meets Sommer, he wants much more than a professional relationship.

Rose shares a special relationship with her grandparents as they were there for her when others were not. Handling the PR for her grandfather's team is the first step to managing the team so she does not want to make any mistakes and the biggest mistake might just be getting personally involved with Jimmy.

Both Jimmy and Rose find themselves dealing with both the expectations they have of themselves as well as the expectations that others have for them. Even though that causes some challenges to overcome the love and chemistry between them is too special to deny.
