My Review:

There's nothing better than a gorgeous and uplifting summer read to escape into as the weather begins to warm up – and Second Chance Summer by Phillipa Ashley is certainly that! A beautifully written tale set against the stunning backdrop of the Scilly Isles, it is a story of loss, heartache, second chances, family relationships and romance that left me with a warm glow in my heart and a big smile on my face as I turned the final page.

Workaholic Lily Harper has had a difficult few years that have left her mentally exhausted and on the verge of collapse. So when her PA, Richie, suggests she take a holiday at a luxury retreat she reluctantly agrees. But nothing could have prepared her for the remote, dark and foggy retreat she's faced with when she arrives, made even worse by the attitude of the grumpy but gorgeous Sam who runs it.

Desperate to return to civilisation Lily decides to leave, but then something happens that changes her perspective on everything. No longer sure she wants to return home, is Lily prepared to give the retreat, including her grumpy host, a second chance?

Second Chance Summer is a beautiful and heartwarming story that had me spellbound from beginning to end. It's a story full of friendship, hope, family relationships and romance that is the perfect summer read - and I loved every word of it!

Pure escapism at its very best, Second Chance Summer by Phillipa Ashley is a gorgeous read that I would highly recommend.
